About Dr. Larry Charleston IV, MD, MSc, FAHS, FANA

Dr. Charleston has spoken to numerous and varied national and international audiences from neurological to professional development, to business, to community seminars. Known for his edutainment, he now combines speaking with original live music to deliver “Keynote Concerts”.

Dr. Charleston is a board-certified neurologist and headache specialist and a Professor of Neurology. In addition to decades of serving and providing world-class, state of the art clinical care, he has more than 150 presentations, 50 publications, 50 abstracts, 50 patient/provider educational material/media, has written textbook chapters and is recipient of research grants. He is the recipient of lectureship awards from the American Neurological Association and the American Headache Society. 

Known in the music world as “Neu’Raye”, he is an awarding winning songwriter/producer. He has been selected multiple times by Nashville Songwriters International Association Evaluations and Recognition System as “Ones to Watch”. He has won awards for songs in different genres including Song of the Year Song & Lyric Writing and Mid-Atlantic Song Competition Awards. He was also a Michigan “w4CountryIdol” finalist. He has written songs for and licensed to schools and was a voting member of the Detroit Music Awards. His music has been used by non-profit organizations and previously spent 49 consecutive weeks within the Top 5 on ReverbNation charts in Michigan. 

He has shared the stage speaking with icons such as Derek Jeter in his Turn 2 Foundation and Kristen Chenoweth. 

Dr. Charleston is founder of Charleston Health Neurology & Head Pain Consultants, Co-founder and CEO of Charleston International in partnership with the Amway Corporation and Leadership Team Development, served as a board of director of several national organizations, and has facilitated professional development workshops. Moreover, Dr. Charleston has worked as a legislative fellow in the United States Congress in Washington DC. A scholar-athlete, he was pro-rated in the NFL pro-scout combine his senior year of undergraduate college.
